Disadvantages of Bvn: How bad and dangerous the Bank verification Number Can be.

This post covers the disadvantages of having a bank verification Number (BVN) and the threats it poses to safety. Foremost, Bank Verification

Number (BVN) is a unique Code usually above 10 digits which serves as a biometric and data code for bank users.

The Bvn as it's fondly called has in no doubt exhibit various protective advantages, but it poses serious threat when breached. Most databases in Nigeria aren't secure so it exposes the users' data to fraudsters and phishers.

Now, come to think of it, how will a system like Paylater require your Bank Verification Number before you can be offered a loan and if possibly you dropped a concocted figure, the system will tell you that your Code isn't correct, this shows your BVN exposes more of your Biometric and account information to systems that can't be traced.

Now, before the Bank Verification Number Can be considered safe, the Database handlers should keep to their oath of secrecy and avoid leaking BVN to anyone, the bank users should also be careful not to give anyone or system anything that can jeopardize their biometric safety
